Dogwood Blossoms Chorus Leadership

Dogwood Blossoms Chorus thrives in part because of the commitment of the people in leadership. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:

JEFF DOLAN, Director 

Jeff has a background in vocal performance, singing, directing, and acting. Until recently, he performed with The Diamonds, a quartet that sings classic rock-n-roll in venues across the country. Although Dogwood Blossoms Chorus is his first Sweet Adelines Int. directorship, he previously directed men’s barbershop choruses in Arizona. Jeff has been busy getting to know our chorus and sharing his expertise - we are excited to move forward together!

Jeff lives in Newark OH with his wife Laura; together they have 4 children.

KAREN BURGESS, Assistant Director Karen is a 40-year charter member who co-directed the chorus upon its inception. We are blessed to have her talents as she still enjoys directing an occasional song. Karen serves on the music committee as the assistant bass section leader.   Karen is a retired nursing home bookkeeper. She has been in the choir at First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon for more than 4 decades. She resides in Mt. Vernon, has three adult children, and six grandchildren.
